host an event
WHO CAN SPONSOR AN EVENT?
Article IX in the NCWSA bylaws states:
Any member in good standing may put on an event by first presenting a budget to the board for approval. To be approved the budget must be passed by a majority of the board members in favor of the event.
HOW CAN NCWSA HELP ME PUT ON AN EVENT?
1. Liability insurance. The Club’s liability insurance provides coverage for the risks of liabilities imposed by lawsuits and similar claims related to the event. It will apply during the dates of the events. For an additional fee , the insurance company will provide a certificate of insurance for the facility owner.
2. Equipment. The club has equipment for events and the event planner can work with the Vice President of NCWSA to use the items.
3. Expertise. Board members have a collective wealth of experience in the herding world. They support new events and will advise if asked.
SO WHAT DO I DO TO HOST AN NCWSA EVENT ?
Follow these easy steps:
-
The event planner fills out the Event Planning Sheet and submits it to the VP at least a month and a half before the event.
-
The VP shares the planning sheet with the Board for evaluation. The VP will notify the event planner once approved.
-
The event planner creates the entry form for the event. Here is a sample entry form to use as a guide. The event planner can ask the VP to check it over before submitting, if desired.
-
The event planner completes the NCWSA Insurance Form and gives it to the VP or Treasurer of the club. It will then be submitted to the insurance broker.
-
The event planner notifies the Webmaster who will notify members and post the event and entry online.
HOPING TO SEE SOME NEW EVENTS IN 2020!
